Time Is Money, Here’s How To Make More Starting This Week

We used to do everything ourselves when we started our own business. You had to back then, no matter how simple or easy until you had more capital or funding.

Order questions. Return requests. Reply to the guy asking if the towel came in blue. All of it landed in our inbox, and we answered every message the same night no matter what time it came in.

That felt like good customer service. It was also two hours a night spent on work that paid us nothing close to what our time was actually worth.

We didn’t learn to delegate because we read it in a book. We learned it at midnight, staring at an inbox instead of the executive tasks to actually grow the business.

Time is the one thing you can’t make more of. Money you can always go get more of. Time just runs out.

Here are the three places we go when we need to buy some of ours back.

  • Upwork for the job you don’t want to learn how to do yourself.
  • Fiverr for the project/task you need done once and done well.
  • OnlineJobs.ph for the flex hire you bring on for good.

Upwork Is Where You Send The Job You Don’t Want To Learn

Upwork is a marketplace full of freelancers with real skills. Writers, designers, bookkeepers, virtual assistants who already know Amazon Seller Central inside and out.

Posting a job is free. You only pay once you actually pick someone, and Upwork holds the payment until the work gets delivered, so you’re never the first one taking a risk.

This is the platform for jobs that need actual skill behind them. Not busywork. Real work you’d rather pay for than spend a weekend learning yourself.

Send jobs like these to Upwork:

  • Rewriting your five weakest product listings
  • Designing a logo or a full brand kit
  • Cleaning up your bookkeeping in QuickBooks
  • Building the review request sequence you’ve been meaning to write for months

The mistake most new sellers make here is writing a vague job post and hoping a great freelancer reads their mind. “Need help with my Amazon listings” gets you fifty low effort replies. “Rewrite the bullet points on these three listings to lead with the customer problem instead of the features, budget is 150 dollars, here’s our best performing listing as an example of the tone” gets you someone who understands the job before you ever talk to them.

Fiverr Is Where You Send The Task You Need Done Once

Fiverr works differently. You aren’t negotiating a rate with a stranger. You’re picking a package with a set price and a clear deliverable, so you know the cost before you ever place the order.

This isn’t the place to hire an ongoing team member. It’s the place to buy a finished result for a job with a clear finish line.

Send jobs like these to Fiverr:

  • Editing your product photos for the main listing image
  • A thumbnail or infographic for a new SKU
  • A voiceover for a product video
  • A one page comparison chart against your top competitor

Here’s the simple rule that keeps you from wasting time on the wrong platform. If the job needs a real conversation to figure out the scope, it belongs on Upwork. If you already know exactly what you want and just need someone to make it, it belongs on Fiverr.

OnlineJobs.ph Is Where You Go When You’re Ready For A Real Team Member

Upwork and Fiverr solve a task. OnlineJobs.ph solves a role.

This is the largest job board built specifically around hiring from the Philippines, and it works differently than the other two. You hire the person directly and pay them directly. There’s no agency standing between you, taking a cut of the wage you agreed on.

This is where you find a virtual assistant to run your listings, answer customer messages, follow up with suppliers, and track inventory using the SOPs you already wrote.

That last part matters more than people realize. The written process you built last month is exactly what makes this hire actually work, instead of becoming one more thing you have to manage.

Common roles new sellers post here:

  • Customer service and order support
  • Listing creation and optimization
  • Supplier communication and follow up
  • Inventory and reorder tracking

This is the hire that actually gives you your evenings back, not just a task crossed off a list for one afternoon.

Your Assignment This Week

Reading about delegation and actually doing it are two different things. Here’s exactly how to use all three platforms in the next seven days.

Monday. Pick one task you dread and would happily never do again. Write it down in a single sentence. If you can’t describe it in one sentence, you’re not ready to hand it off yet or biting off more than you can chew.

Tuesday. Decide which platform fits that task using the rule above. Needs a real conversation to scope it out, that’s Upwork. Already know exactly what you want, that’s Fiverr. Create your free account on whichever one you picked.

Wednesday. Post the job or place the order. Be specific. State what you want, what finished actually looks like, and your budget. Vague briefs get vague results every time.

Thursday. While that job is in progress, spend fifteen minutes on OnlineJobs.ph browsing profiles for the role you’ll eventually want full time. You don’t have to hire anyone yet. You’re just learning what’s out there and what it costs.

Friday. Review what came back. Did the work clear the bar? Would you use this person again? Write one sentence about what you’d change in your next brief.

None of this is about getting your work week down to zero hours. It’s about buying back the hours that were never a good use of your time in the first place, and putting them back into relationships and other parts of the business only you can actually do.

You can take by your time if you begin outsourcing. It won’t be immediate but stay the course and within a few weeks you will have so much more time to actually grow your business.
